NIM receives funding for another five years within the German Excellence Initiative

The final decisions about the second phase of the Excellence Initiative have been made. The Munich Cluster of Excellence “Nanosystems Initiative Munich” (NIM) is one of the winners and will be funded for another five years. This has been announced by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) on June 15, 2012.

The Walther-Meißner-Institute is participating in NIM from the beginning. It contributes to the Research Areas 1 on "Quantum Nanophysics" and 2 on "Hybrid Nanosystems". Rudolf Gross of WMI is member of the Executive Committee of NIM and coordinator of Research Area 1.
