preliminary discussion at 10.15h in virtual lecture hall (zoom), assignment of topics to students also on consultation (phone: 089289 14249) (a list of possible topics for talks given by students are available here)
Within the seminar students can give talks on current topics in condensed matter
physics. The focus of the seminar is on spin electronics, spin dynamics, solidstate quantum information processing, physics of solidstate nanostructures, and high temperature superconductivity (including the recently discovered FeAs superconductors).
The seminar is relevant for the special courses on "Superconductivity
and Low Temperature Physics", "Applied Superconductivity" as well as on "Magnetism and Spintronics". It is suitable for bachelor and master students in the 6. semester and higher.
Seminar talks can be given either in English or in German.

This seminar deals with magnetismrelated phenomena in solid state physics. The focus of the seminar will be on

2. torques in magnetic systems
