Janine is currently working as a PhD student in the field of spintronics on pure spin currents and magnon transport in magnetically ordered insulators. She started her PhD in April 2019.  Previously she was a Master’s student at the Technical University of Munich. She completed her master thesis on optical spectroscopy of localized excitons in monolayer WSe2 and its heterostructures at the Walter Schottky Institute in the group of Prof. Dr. Jonathan Finley.
