Prof. Dr. Andreas Erb
- Staff Scientist: Single Crystal Growth: Superconductivity and Correlated Electron Systems
Prof. Dr. Andreas Erb works now for more than 30 years in the field of crystal growth and material science.
His main interests are in the field of crystal growth of complicated oxide materials like the High Temperature Superconductors, detector crystals like CaWO4, YIG, Rutile, Sapphire, laser crystals among others. The methods to grow the crystals range from Czochrolaski-, Solution growth, Travelling Solvent, Floating Zone (TSFZ) to Bridgeman growth techniques.
Since Dec. 2012 he is also honorary professor for experimental physics at the University Leipzig, Germany. In 2015 he was awarded the Prize of the German Association for Crystal Growth (DGKK) for his work on crystal growth of various oxides.
In March 2019 he was elected Vice Chairman of the German Association for Crystal Growth (DGKK).
