Fabian Kronowetter was member of the Gross group at WMI as a Ph.D. student between 2021 and 2024.

Ph.D. Thesis: A Journey into Quantum Illumination (2024)

Fabian Kronowetter was doing his Ph.D. within a joint BMBF projecrt with Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG. He was studying the topic of quantum illumination, which is related to quantum radar technology and aims to outperform the optimal classical radar. He considered a scheme which relied on quantum entangled resource states and theoretically investigated the robustness of the scheme against realistic imperfections. In his experiments, he characterized a nonlinear quantum interferometer in the microwave regime. After finishing his Ph.D. he stayed with Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG as a Junior Development Engineer.
