Francesca Venturini was member of the Gross group at WMI as a Ph.D. student between 2000 and 2003.

Ph.D. Thesis: Raman Scattering Study of Electronic Correlations in Cuprates: Observation of an Unconventional Metal-Insulator Transition (2003)

Francesca Venturin was studying electronic correlations in cuprate superconductors by Raman spectroscopy. She was leaving WMI in August 2003 to join Bruker Biospin as a project mangager. Later on, she was Business Consultant at IntranetStandard GmbH and Head of Product Development Gas Analytics at Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. Since December 2017 she is Professor of Applied Optics at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences.
