Hans-Martin Eiter was member of the Gross group at WMI as a Master and Ph.D. Student between 2007 and 2014.
Master Thesis: Untersuchung von Ladungs- und Spinordnung in gering dotierten Kupraten: Eine Raman-Studie (2008)
Ph.D. Thesis: Carrier and Lattice Dynamics in Systems with Charge and Spin Order (2014)
In his Ph.D. thesis, Hans-Martin Eiter was studying ordering effects in the cuprate superconductors by Raman spectroscopy. In particular, he studied the impact of charge and spin ordering on electron and lattice excitations in the rare-earth tritellurides and in MnSi. Using Raman spectroscopy, anisotropies in he investigated the electron dynamics as a function of temperature, magnetic field and applied pressure. In the tritellurides, he identified a band hybridization as an important factor for charge density wave formation. In MnSi, he found that phonons and conduction electrons respond to both the helimagnetic phase transition and the fluctuations above.
He left WMI in December 2014 to join BSH Home Appliances Group.
