Alumnus/Alumna: Magnetism and Spintronics

Johanna Fischer was working as a Bachelor and a Master student in the Gross group between 2014 and 2017. She was supported by a Deutschlandstipendium.

In her Master thesis, Johanna was investigating the spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) effect in the antiferromagnetic insulators NiO and α-Fe₂O₃. She continued with a PhD at the L'Unité Mixte de Physique CNRS-Thales, now Laboratoire Albert Fert, in Palaiseau (France). She is a permanent staff scientist at Spintec, Grenoble (France).
