Dr. Georg Wild
- Alumnus/Alumna: Quantum Systems
- Alumnus/Alumna: Magnetism and Spintronics
Member of the Gross groups as a master and Ph.D. student between 2003 and 2010.
Master Thesis: Macroscopic Quantum Tunneling in Josephson Junctions - a Method to Characterize a Well-shielded Low Temperature Setup (2004)
Ph.D. Thesis: Josephson Junctions with Ferromagnetic Interlayer (2012)
Georg Wild was studying macroscopic quantum tunneling in Josephson junctions and realized Josephson junctions with ferromagnetic barriers that can be used as phase-shifters in superconducting quantum technology. He left WMI in 2010 to start a career in industry. He was with Semikron until 2015 and then joined Philips Photonics.
