Dr. Michael Renger
- Alumnus/Alumna: Quantum Systems
Michael Renger was member of the Gross group at WMI as a master and Ph.D. student between 2017 and 2023.
Master Thesis: Quantum Process Tomography of a 3D Quantum Memory (2018)
Ph.D. Thesis: Quantum Microwave Communication (2023)
In his Ph.D. thesis, Michel Renger was working on the realization of quantum communication with propagating quantum microwaves. The main objective of his thesis was quantum communication with propagating quantum microwaves. The central result was the successful experimental realization of analog quantum teleportation of Gaussian quantum microwave states over a cryogenic link with which we connect two dilution cryostats located in remote laboratories. He demonstrated that our protocol provides a quantum advantage in terms of teleportation fidelity and feedforward channel security.
After a short postdoc stay at WMI. he left in 2023 to join IQM Quantum Computers where he is working as a Quantum Hardware Engineer.
